Vast Blue have recently been helping NHS Lothian with the ongoing development of a departmental internal logistics solution.
They have just commissioned us further to produce an online media outpatient resource for a self-managed cardiac rehabilitation programme. We will be using Blue Frameworks (our in-house CMS) and VTheque to deliver this solution.
We are excited to be working with NHS Lothian on this project and it is a good example of bringing some of our more creative technologies into a different sector.

The Illusionist is this year’s Opening Gala at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, once again putting Scotland, Edinburgh and the festival firmly in the spotlight. It will also be the inaugural premiere at the recently announced new venue, the spectacular Festival Theatre.
The new, greatly anticipated, exciting animated film from Sylvain Chomet, director of “The Triplets of Belleville”; The Illusionist premiered at Berlinale in February this year to great reviews. The film was produced by Edinburgh based Django Films. The city is also the backdrop to this beautiful film illustrated in Chomet’s distinctive style.
Vast Blue is proud to have provided the animation asset tracking database for the project.

Edinburgh International Film Festival opened this year in the new venue of the Festival Theatre, which proved a huge success. Guests were treated to a screening of The Illusionist as the theatre was transformed into a cinema for the red carpet event.
Edinburgh International Film Festival has been working with Vast Blue since 2007 and use our Festival Management Platform (FMP) to fully manage all aspects of organising their festival, from media content management to logistics to hotel bookings. They also use our VTheque™ digital library system alongside FMP to provide a cutting edge market videotheque for their festival

At the 2010 Edinburgh International Film Festival for the first time, delegate passes will be barcode scanned upon entry to Press and Industry screenings to provide a faster and more efficient way of recording who's watched what. Instead of manually writing down and looking up each delegate, a quick scan of their pass with a small handheld barcode scanner is all that is required. We believe this to be a huge step forward in the management of this area of the festival.
The Edinburgh International Film Festival uses Vast Blue's Festival Management Platform (FMP) solution to manage all facets of their festival. The barcode scanning functionality is an integrated part of FMP

Vast Blue is proud to be Sponsoring the 64th Edinburgh International Film Festival for the third year running. We are working closely with the EIFF providing complete management of the festival using our Festival Management Platform, and providing a comprehensive digital Videotheque video-on-demand library using our VTheque technologies.

Vast Blue is excited to be working with Scottish Screen, creating and developing a new platform to promote Scottish film making talent around the world.
Films can now be shown in full HD online, making use of our Global Content Delivery Network. Extensive content can be held and past films can be placed in an archive and still be accessible to the user.
The convenience of being able to view content on demand, anywhere and at any time, has been something of a revolution in terms of the way content is distributed. It offers the potential for far greater exposure and coverage for many film makers.

Using our Festival Management Platform (FMP) products, Vast Blue is excited to be providing essential back office support systems for the inaugural Doha Tribeca Film Festival (DTFF) to be held in Doha, Qatar, 29 October - 1 November 2009.
The Doha Tribeca Film Festival was formed through a strategic partnership between the Qatar Museums Authority and the Tribeca Film Festival. Uniquely Qatari in its identity, the festival aims to celebrate the best of Arabic and international cinema.
To compliment our VTheque DVD encoding systems, we have developed a highly scalabe system for uploading and encoding digital video through the web. The VTheque Digital Uploads system allows users to submit SD and HD video content directly to festivals and organisations for inclusion in VTheque videotheque solutions. All collection and conversion is handled automatically, vastly reducing administration time and costs.

June saw the successful introduction of a brand new videotheque (video library) at the 63rd Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF). Powered by Vast Blue's VTheque technologies, EIFF's Videotheque then made the switch from a previously DVD based library to a fully digital on-demand system.
Over 600 DVD's from around the world were converted at full digital quality using our specialised automatic DVD encoding system.
Thanks to the instant film access provided by the VTheque technology, our statistics showed that viewers watched not only a greater number, but a wider variety of films.
